Protective Bond + Life Bond
(Monk skill reference: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/skill/class/3-monk)
What happens if you are maintaining both Protective Bond and Life Bond on a character?
Also, what about Protective Spirit and Life Barrier? Is the combination of skills different for any of those? Presumably either "Protective <spell>" + either "Life <spell>" of these four behave similarly?
Does that reduce the damage to 2.5% for the protected guy? Do you end up taking 2.5% (through the Life Bond)? Or do you take half the normal damage, and the protected guy takes 5%? Or something even weirder?
Does it matter what order you cast the spells? Maybe it does one damage replacement, then another? If so, which one gets applied first, the first one cast or the last one cast?
I haven't tested this at all, probably will, but wondered if anyone else had some experience with these seemingly obvious combinations. It seems as if it could be extremely powerful, if you can reduce damage to 2.5%, especially in a 4vs4 setting. This only requires some protection prayers (and defense vs. enchantment stripping, admittedly), which leaves room for the monk to do a lot of other things, even if it's just running away. =)
Thanks.

I am pretty sure, but not positive that this is how it works. The Prot. Bond first reduces the damage to 5%. Then the Life Bond would redirect 1/2 of that Damage to you and if you have enough att. points in Prot. Prayers it would be reduced to 0. Since I am in Florida on vacation and my CPU that I play on is in Ohio I will have to wait till Tuesday to try out my theory. Earlier today I made a UW build that, i hope, will make me able to go to UW with one other Monk/Mesmer and be able to stay alive for a very long time. It involves so pretty cool ideas, but I have to go capture Shield of Judgement before it will work properly. If you want to try it out with me reply back to this post and maybe we can meet up, In Game. He he he.

when i cast life b before prot b i take damage from big hits.
other way round: i am fine. so i guess, it works.
here is what puzzles me: retribution seems to always throw back the same amount. no matter if cast before or after the protection.
